![]() Pansy P. Parkinson Age: Twenty-two. Born: October 30. Played by: Anais Lameche. Blood status: Pureblood. Hogwarts house: Slytherin. Wand: Rosewood, 11", dragon heartstring. Patronus: Gyrfalcon. Familiar: Mnemosyne, a medium-sized, smoke-gray cat. Family: Alistair and Persephone Parkinson, both deceased. In the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, it was discovered that Mr. Parkinson, though he was not a Death Eater, was one of You-Know-Who's primary financial contributors. Rather than face Azkaban, Mr. Parkinson chose to murder his estranged wife, and then commit suicide. Pansy's relationship with her parents is largely unknown, and it should be noted that she never addresses the circumstances of their death. Recent history: Falling Dark Lords, ascending Gryffindors, and days spent eluding the shame which inheritance or her own folly had brought to her personal legacy; so go the days of her life. After a time, Pansy has come to the conclusion that she has wasted far too much time on needless whimsy and and pride. Time's passing has strange effects, if one takes her conclusions at face value: parents dead; fortune seized by the tight-fisted vermin in the Ministry of Magic; and no one to so much as help the poor little pureblood bemoan her sad fate. Certainly whimsy and pride had gotten her nowhere, upon graduation from Hogwarts, and when she'd ceased to be able to eke out an existence on her own, she was forced to come crawling to the doorstep of Malfoy Manor. After all, when one's star shines as brightly as does the Malfoys', even after the dust has settled, the difference between dark and light is crystal-clear; slightly lower on the totem pole, the Parkinsons have to find their way in a landscape more prone to gradients of gray. That concept--the gray area--seems to be a finer point of thought than most of the rabble can comprehend, Pansy is prone to thinking, with a condescending little sniff. Perhaps what had long been said is true: if one has less, then one has less to lose. If that makes one dangerous, well, that is all to the better, isn't it? Occupation: Senior shopgirl at Twilfit & Tattings, retailers of fine witch- and wizardwear, in Diagon Alley. It must be noted that Pansy does perform her job admirably: she is able to order around those employees who fall under her in the atelier hierarchy, tell people what to wear, and be rude to loiterers. Residence: Pansy resides at Malfoy Manor, with Draco Malfoy and his parents. Though no one is privy to the conditions of her stay, save Pansy and the Malfoys themselves, it is evident that she no longer abides by the rules of sycophancy, when in young Mr. Malfoy's presence. The childhood naïveté, which had caused her to worship Draco with the kind of reverence most often reserved for the Boy Who Lived, had faded; in its place, wariness, a (very) grudging respect, and a certain haunted affinity guided her actions in regard to Draco. Though she does work, in order to finance the attorneys who handled her case against the Ministry's unlawful seizure of her inheritance, it must be noted that Pansy dresses in the height of fashion; one can only surmise that her lovely clothes, accessories, and jewels are compliments of Draco Malfoy, himself.
